The city of Lima is home to the University of Northwest Ohio (UNOH) with more than 4,500 students from 36 states and six foreign countries. UNOH offers 60 different programs of study and has an impact of more than $250 million on the economy. Other universities/colleges in the area include The Ohio State University Lima Branch with 1,200 students, Rhodes State College, and the Ohio State Beauty Academy. Lima’s St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima Memorial Health System serve as the medical centers for a ten-county region. Together they employ 5,600 people. Other major businesses include Ford Motor Co., Lima Engine Plant, Proctor & Gamble, General Dynamics/JSMC, Nash Finch Food, Dana Corporation, Husky Lima Refinery, DTR Industries, Inc., and INEOS USA, LLC.
