First Wave of Tenants Announced for Fairfield Town Center

National Anchors, Retailers and Quick Service Restaurants Slated to Open This Fall

CYPRESS, Texas (May 16, 2016) – WP Glimcher (NYSE: WPG), a recognized leader in the ownership, management, acquisition and development of retail properties, has announced the first wave of retail and dining options slated to open this fall at Fairfield Town Center. The new development is an open-air lifestyle venue located in Cypress, the fast-growing northwestern suburb of Houston.

The more than 600,000-square-foot retail center will welcome national retailers Old Navy, Party City and Marshalls/Homegoods as well as AT&T, GNC and The Mattress Firm. Quick service restaurants complementing the retail mix include Zoe’s Kitchen, Chipotle, Jimmy John’s and Pei Wei. These retailers and restaurants will join the newly opened Academy Sports + Outdoors as well as H-E-B, Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s and Bank of America.

Additional national and locally owned retail and dining tenants will be announced in the coming months.

“With a majority of the shopping center committed, we are extremely pleased with the interest and leasing momentum for this new development project,” said Butch Knerr, chief operating officer at WP Glimcher. “We’ve assembled a strong collection of national retailers, great dining and entertainment options offering a convenient destination in the fast growing suburb of Cypress.”

Located just 25 miles northwest of downtown Houston, Fairfield Town Center will serve the fifth largest market in the United States with six million residents. The rapidly growing, affluent suburbs of Houston have grown by 200 percent over the past decade and are expected to continue to grow by more than 20 percent over the next five years.

With an 11,000-acre, master-planned community currently under construction just across the highway, ultimately including 20,000 new homes and 65,000 residents, the surrounding area is poised for future growth. The Grand Parkway expansion intersects with US 290 just northwest of this site, positioning Fairfield Town Center at one of the most significant intersections in the market.

One of only a few retail developments across the U.S., Fairfield Town Center is owned and managed by WP Glimcher.
